Set at a nexus between the Seaport, Fort Point and Southie, the Lawn on D is drawing residents and visitors from all three neighborhoods and beyond. The multifunctional 2.7-acre outdoor arts space opened its second season this May with a pumped-up lineup of programming already on the books—including performances by indie-folk outfit Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeroes and exuberant synth-poppers Passion Pit, interactive public art installations like Swing Time (LED-lit swings for nighttime lounging), free parties (like a 100th birthday bash for Les Paul), food trucks and beer vendors, lawn games and more. Think of it as a playground for the big kids in all of us.
