Dot’s got some grade-A dives, but classy-yet-comfortable watering holes are harder to find. (Hopefully, the city’s new liquor licenses will help.) Fortunately, there’s the Ashmont and its stalwart bar scene, fueled by competitively priced wine, beer and cocktails. (Chef Chris Douglass’ American cuisine doesn’t hurt.) They taste best on the vine-wrapped patio, a rare, refreshing urban oasis.
