Southie is finally putting the bad old days of middling pub menus, crummy pizza and bad Chinese-American fare in its rearview mirror. This new indie in the former home of the Franklin Southie, from nearby resident and chef/owner Asia Mei, shows its commitment to the burgeoning Lower End with inventive Asian-accented seafood dishes, quality vegetarian fare and the odd steak and burger. Good cocktails and nice prices further elevate Moonshine’s bar-with-great-food formula above the fray of Southie’s fast-evolving dining scene.
