Youthful Allston has enough dedicated vegetarians and vegans to sustain a growing cluster of restaurants that limit or altogether avoid meat and dairy. In the middle of Veggie Restaurant Row, Whole Heart Provisions centers its menu on bowls of legumes, grains, root vegetables, greens, tofu and punchy dressings with globe-trotting accents of chilies, coconut curry, fruit sambal, tahini and miso. They’re delicious, wholesome and satisfying enough to make even omnivores glad to occasionally forswear the animal kingdom.
