If organizers were stressed when Boston Calling’s Film Festival was scrapped two months before the event, they didn’t show it. Festival booker Trevor Solomon swiftly tapped comedy vet Lamont Price, a collaborator on a previous fest, to help him curate local talent for a replacement comedy experience. Price also took the stage, more than holding his own alongside marquee names like Hannibal Buress, Tig Notaro and Pete Holmes. That’s no surprise, as the prolific local stand-up artist has made the rounds at Funny or Die’s Oddball Fest, the Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal and this year’s Boston Comedy Festival— not to mention the Twittersphere, where Price is equally adept at 140-character jabs at the president (#covfefe, anyone?) and meme takedowns.
