Food Truck

2017 Winner: Mei Mei

Aided by some addictive stuffed scallion pancakes, siblings Andrew, Margaret and Irene Li have kept their mobile Chinese-American eats venture rolling along while other outfits have sputtered. Maybe more impressively, they’ve simultaneously expanded the brand by opening a restaurant, launching cooking classes, developing a line of bottled sauces and marinades—and next, releasing a forthcoming cookbook. Mei Mei, which means “little sister,” also intends to introduce profit-sharing opportunities to staff, helping new hospitality careers mature.
