Step right up and see the light when Cirque du Soleil’s Luzia swings into the Big Top at Suffolk Downs this summer. After a decade living and traveling in Mexico, writer and director Daniele Finzi Pasca penned the spectacle—in collaboration with Brigitte Poupart—to bring audiences on a vibrant journey through the country. Each of the 11 numbers is inspired by a different region or period in Mexican history, as 44 artists perform on sets built around the themes of light (“luz” in Spanish) and rain (“lluvia”) —including a massive downpour producing different shapes and patterns.
