Cirque of the Dead

For those with coulrophobia (that would be the official term for “fear of clowns,” a condition likely spiking because of the recent spate of creepy clown sightings sweeping the country), the circus is already a pretty scary place. The Boston Circus Guild is taking it a step further with Cirque of the Dead, its annual horror show featuring aerialists, acrobats, burlesque performers, musicians and more—all masquerading as your worst nightmares. The immersive show places the audience right in the middle of the action, with zombies, mad scientists and assorted creepy crawlies suspended from the ceiling and performing all through the room. This is one circus you’re more likely to run away from than run away to join, but enter if you dare when Cirque of the Dead takes over Oberon on Oct. 21-29.
