Tin is traditional for 10th anniversary gifts, but the Institute of Contemporary Art is celebrating its decadelong residence on the waterfront with steel—the Branches Steel Orchestra, that is. The Dorchester band will bring calypso tunes to the museum’s free community day on Dec. 10, which also features dance performances, artmaking projects, pop-up talks, giveaways and free coffee to keep you fueled for the fun. And there are more celebrations in store: The community day is the culmination of ICA 10, a 10-day lineup that includes an Island Creek Oyster shucking demo, a movement installation by choreographer Heidi Latsky, a trunk show for local makers, a throwback dance party and other festivities, which kick off Dec. 1
