Shaolin Warriors

Most people have only seen kung fu in action flicks, but the Chinese fighting style was around long before the likes of Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan and Jet Li brought their jaw-dropping moves to the big screen. In fact, the monks of the Shaolin temple in China’s Henan province honed their skills for more than a thousand years. Today Shaolin Warriors celebrates that ancient art in a live stage show featuring traditional costumes and music and more than 20 kung fu masters, who perform acrobatic feats, choreographed combat and some impressive stunts involving a sledgehammer and a bed of nails. Watch the warriors duke it out at the Orpheum Theatre on April 1.
