Get ready to pig out at Cochon555, a nose-to-tail showdown that’ll have culinary teams led by local toques from Townsman, Juliet, Tapestry, Loyal Nine and La Brasa competing to create the tastiest pig plates. The chefs get one week to dream up six dishes using a 200-pound heritage pig, which they’ll unveil at a Heritage BBQ where guests taste test ’em all. Be sure to wear pants with an elastic waist: This year, the event will also include a Somm Smackdown with wine pros competing to design the best pork pairings, bartenders duking it out for the title of Punch King and pop-ups dishing out non-piggie offerings like ramen, cheese and baked goods. Come see who brings home the bacon when Cochon555 takes over the SoWa Power Station on April 9.
This intimate cooking classes led by Trade chef Jody Adams features welcoming coffee and scones, followed by a class on cooking Spanish cuisine and a3-course lunch with wine pairing. Attendees will receive recipe cards to take home to recreate the dishes.
