Forget the cup-versus-cone debate. This summer, the best way to enjoy creamy gelato is between two brioche buns. Quincy’s Italian Cafe Gelato, a gelateria and sandwich shop opened last month by Denise Santini and Giancarlo Baldini (co-owners of Casa Razdora) and Daniele Buzza, serves a gelato sandwich that features two scoops of flavors crafted in house. Try the rich hazelnut with a mascarpone and caramelized fig creation, or opt for a pairing of mango and strawberry made with fresh fruit. “In Italy, the sandwiches are a big deal,” Santini says. “They eat them all the time—they eat them for lunch.” Looks like dessert is covered, too.
