With Sweet Kingdom joining the stretch of eateries along Harvard Avenue, Allston continues to see its Asian cuisine selection become more specialized. The dedicated desserterie—buzzing with students and lined with colorful furniture—concentrates on serving fruity Hong Kong-style sweets such as the Mango Kingdom. The creamy soup is rich and refreshing, thanks to a coconut milk base that’s brightened with grapefruit, bead-like pearl sago (a tapioca-like starch from palm stems), a scoop of mango ice cream and chunks of the namesake fresh fruit. Another novelty: It’s open until 2 am.
