Buried at the end of an extensive coffee menu, the Liège waffle is the lone food option at East Cambridge’s new Curio Coffee and easy to miss—but you shouldn’t. Owner Justin Pronovost, who launched his antiquish coffee shop in December, makes a buttery dough and cooks each piece to order on an iron he imported from Belgium. The result is piping hot, crisp and golden outside, plush and pliant within, and punctuated with the restrained but sweet crunch of pearl sugar—quite possibly the best caffeine companion in town.
