I’m glad denim is still showing a strong presence in the marketplace. I picked up a denim jacket last spring that I wore year-round. I sported it with my casual looks; I even dressed it up a few times when I needed an extra layer for formal attires.
I am eager to embrace the refreshing colors of spring hitting the runways—anything reminiscent of cherry blossoms, blue skies, sunshine. For Luxxie’s spring collection, lavender is the new black.

The platform shoes! As a fashion historian, I like seeing Ferragamo reinterpret one of its classic 1940s platform designs. I also love the single statement earrings.

I’m so excited that navy blue is a trend for spring. Navy is the primary color in my wardrobe. It’s a more interesting neutral than black. There are so many variations, from bright to muted. Also, short shorts. Need I say more?
I can’t wait to pack away my boots and slip into some sneakers from Common Projects.

I typically have a tough time with spring fashion—lighter and more delicate materials are much more prone to rumpling, and quite frankly look cheap even when they’re quite expensive. So I’m pleased to see a lot more structured looks being shown.
