If you’re running from Hopkinton to Copley Square on April 16, there are more than a few marathon massages, pasta dinners and stylish sneakers you can try. We rounded up a few items and an event that might catch the eye of marathoners and infrequent sprinters alike.
Running singlet, $45
You’ll have to rush to the recently renovated New Balance experience store on Boylston Street if you want any of the five types of limited-edition singlets, each emblazoned with a Boston neighborhood like Brighton, Beacon Hill or Southie. There’s only 42 of each style, matching the number of kilometers in a marathon. But don’t fret if you miss out—you can always buy a T-shirt version of the design.
Socks, $16
Local sock company Neon Bandits teamed up with Heartbreak Hill Running Co. earlier this year to launch four styles of Boston Marathon-themed socks. The performance running sock took eight months to design and includes one pair that has a map of the Hopkinton starting line on one sock and the Boston finish line on the other.
Pre-marathon stretch, Free
Fitness app Zeamo hosts an hourlong pre-marathon stretch on April 15 at 10 am, led by Equinox trainer and marathoner Alli Felsenthal. The outdoor event takes place near the Newton Marriott’s gazebo and includes tips on proper stretching techniques and other ways to prevent injury for all runners. Bonus: There’ll be plenty of fitness-related treats and giveaways.
