Nestled in Boston’s vibrant South End, CouCou has claimed a special place in the hearts of the young and old. Owned by local mom Astrid Motsenigos, originally from Spain, the shelves are lined with irresistible, globally sourced clothes, handmade toys, colorful kitchenware, gorgeous nursery decor and so much more. Best of all – nearly all the brands and products are exclusive to CouCou in Boston, so you’ll be sure to find something truly unique.
Beyond the store, customers will find a wonderful surprise to keep the kids busy while they shop – a magical play room filled with toys, books, a mini grand piano, art table, play kitchen and even a teepee to cozy up in. The play room also offers a variety of classes and events, such as yoga classes for toddlers and kids, new moms and their babies, play dates for little ones, mom’s groups and special events.
CouCou was originally inspired by the owner’s frustration at the lack of variety and uniqueness in the world of children’s shopping. Burnt out from a high paced career that entailed too much travel away from her then baby girl, she dreamt up the world of CouCou and soon after quit her job and opened the doors at 24 Union Park Street.
The store’s European charm draws you in immediately to explore and discover the many carefully curated nooks where you will find brands such as Spanish children’s fashion designer Tocoto Vintage, Denmark’s kitchenware brand RICE, Copenhagen’s world of nursery decor Cam Cam Copenhagen, British toy company Le Toy Van, French kids wear label Émile et Ida and Poland’s natural wood blocks and teethers Wooden Story.
CouCou’s website offers everything the store has and delivers worldwide. Those of you in Boston can even choose same day delivery and get assistance with picking the perfect gift via their Styling Service.
