It’s not every day a Chinese dragon dance takes place in a Versace boutique, but that’s precisely what happened at Copley Place when the luxury brand threw a Lunar New Year party to benefit the Asian Task Force Against Domestic Violence.
Hosted by gorgeous fashion plate Adelle Chang, the soiree attracted the likes of Chestnut Hillion Nancy Adams, her twin sister, Linda Kupiec, and handsome other half, Scott Schoen, ubiquitous firecracker Janet Wu, Back Bay beauty Ashley Wisneski, blond bombshell Biz Morris, Gallic fun boy Eric Jausseran, stylist and brand ambassador Mark Gibson, Harvard Med School hottie Julie Joyal and numerous super-stylish others.
The Champagne flowed like it ought to while waiters passed delicious Asian hors d’oeuvres. However, the evening’s undisputed highlight was the dragon dance, which began outside in the mall and then wound around the boutique.
“I love your fur—who designed it?” asked one guest, to which the answer was: “Fendi. But I shouldn’t say that too loud. Someone from Versace might get of-Fendi’d.”
The evening’s best exchange: Pointing at a rack of flamboyant bathrobes, one guest said, “You need to buy one of those,” to which his friend responded, “The only people who need one of those are Flavor Flav and WWF wrestlers.”
