To celebrate its bold new initiative to create open public space on Boston Harbor, the Trustees of the Reservations hosted its One Waterfront Gala in a marquee next to the Blue Hills Bank Pavilion.

The strictly A-list crowd included Beacon Hillions Kimberlea and Stephen Jeffries, North Shore nabobs Peter and Kitty Creighton and Clem and Stephanie Benenson, thoroughbred breeder Beth Johnson, mutual fund guru Peter Lynch with his daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth and Gonzague de Montrichard, the soignee Sophia Garmey and her charming other half, Edward, the dapper Abbott Lawrence, Microsoft muckety muck Kate Shamon, brunette babe Tani Marinovich, Legal Sea Foods head honcho Roger Berkowitz, power couple Uzo and Eric Erlingsson, the startlingly beautiful Christy Cashman, party pair Allison Ryder and David Jones, gorgeous jewelry designers Jade and Mika Gedeon, real-estate titan Jon Davis, the absurdly handsome Jeff Bellows, Blue Cross CEO Andrew Dreyfus, pharmaceutical giant Jeffrey Leiden, the hale and hearty Peter Coffin and Hizzonah Marty Walsh, to name a few.

Next year, the event will be called Rock the Dock and will feature a concert and a cast of thousands, but this year, dinner and speeches were followed by dessert and dancing to the beats of DJ Master Millions.

“How’d you get here from Concord in time for cocktails?” one guest asked a friend, to which he responded, “We left at noon.”

However, the evening’s best remark came from the woman who was asked if she was a writer and responded, “I was an English major at Pine Manor. That means I can write captions.”
