The Boston Lyric Opera held its annual Opera Gala at City Winery on Sept. 29. Partygoers enjoyed a dinner that included pop-up opera performances by 15 singers mingling within the crowd of 200. In addition to a performance by Jennifer Johnson Cano, star of next spring’s production of The Handmaid’s Tale, Voices Boston presented a song from an opera created by students from Jackson-Mann Elementary School. The evening raised $370,000 for BLO’s education programs.
