It was a high-powered crowd that gathered at the University of Massachusetts Club for a cocktail reception to support Seed Global Health, a charity that sends medical professionals to Africa to teach critical health care practices in places that desperately need them.
Founded by Vanessa Kerry, the organization has trained more than 10,000 people and expanded to serve five African countries in only five years. The evening attracted the likes of Kerry’s husband, Brian Nahed, the luscious Aisha Al Riyami and her dashing husband, Wadhah Al Adawi, Back Bay nabobs Julie and Phil Gordon, the former’s father, Ken Talmage, yummy mummy Liz Fish and her debonair other half, Mike, Channel 5 babe Erika Tarantal and her handsome husband, Luke Nathan, retired educator Diana Kerry, city councilor Ayanna Pressley, the uber chic Geraldine Acuna-Sunshine, the hale and hearty Tom Weigel and his gorgeous wife, Sarah, mover and shaker Margot Davis and equally dazzling others.
The view of Back Bay was worth the price of admission, the passed apps were delicious, and the event raised more than $100K for the cause.
The evening’s best exchange: “I work at McLean Hospital.”
“Or, as we call it in my family, the spa.”
