It takes a monumental amount of moolah to mount appearances by the world’s foremost performing artists, which is why Celebrity Series hosted its Shine on the Harbor Gala at the Innovation and Design Building.
The black-tie evening attracted a glittering crowd, including co-chairs Stephanie Brown and Susan Thonis, arresting redhead Amy d’Ablemont Burnes and her adoring other half, Ethan, wildly talented artist Ryan Edwards, smokeshow choreographer Levi Marsman, the corkscrew-curled Sofi Madison, ubiquitous couple Ricardo Rodriguez and Michael Kelley, the naturally radiant Jennifer Mancuso, newly affianced Jacquelyn Rosenfeld and Andrew Mann, his gorgeous sister, Samantha, the always dashing Peter Wender, blond bombshell Hannah Grove, white-hot shoe designer Thom Solo, the dapper David Sebastien Wedemeyer, former Gov. Deval Patrick and the lovely Diane, the babe-alicious Sarah Mars and a woman with an elaborate updo, about whom another guest said, “Her hair looks like it hurts.”
Cocktails were followed by dinner and dancing, accompanied by superb performances, and the loft-like space was transformed into a futuristic disco via interactive light installations. The evening’s best exchange: One guest who arrived late said, “What did we miss?” To which someone else responded, “My entrance.”
