To kick off its 35th season, the Huntington Theatre Company celebrated opening night of Sunday in the Park with George on a Wednesday in the Scene Shop with a Who’s Who of Boston.
Front and center: banking bigwig Bernie Fulp and his Wonder Woman, Carol, literary agent Ike Williams and soignée Englishwoman Caroline Courtauld, arts patrons Cokie and Lee Perry, gorgeous jewelry designer April Soderstrom, the flawless Cassandra Henderson, her brother, retired museum head Douglas Hyland and his stunning wife, Tita, toothsome blonde Adrienne Camire, banking babe Dyan Goodwin and her other half, Rob Serio, uber philanthropists Debbie and Bob First, Boston’s reigning fairy godfather, Danny Mullin, criminally handsome pair Dominic Cioffoletti and Chris Scinto, ICA head honcha Jill Medvedow, artistic director Peter DuBois and one woman who answered the question “How are you?” by saying “Above ground.”
Dinner was delicious, the play earned a well-deserved standing ovation, and dessert and coffee were served back in the scene shop, where everyone raved about how amazing the production was. Overheard by the bar at intermission: A man carrying a glass of wine said, “I’m locked and loaded,” to which his date replied, “You’re just loaded.”
