In addition to his Wednesday roots-rock residency at the Lizard Lounge, Dennis Brennan throws down at Club Passim on Friday with the Wayward Travelers, an ensemble that annually salutes the music of the Carter Family and features fellow local folk and rock veterans Anita Suhanin, Elijah Wald, Jerome Deupree, Bruce Millard and Matt Leavenworth. Also on Friday, the exquisite jazz vocalist Cecile McLorin Salvant and her longtime accompanist Aaron Diehl revisit jazz piano works of George Gershwin and Jelly Roll Morton at the Berklee Performance Center, while the bossa nova-informed Brazilian pop scion Bebel Gilberto sings in the acoustically intimate environs of Rockport’s Shalin Liu Performance Center.

Saturday’s even busier with anthemic English folk-rocker Frank Turner and his Sleeping Souls waking up Agganis Arena, bluegrass/Americana outfit Della Mae (pictured) returning to home roots at the Sinclair, Singapore-bred guitar virtuoso Shun Ng invigorating Medford’s Chavalier Theatre with his backup-vocal trio the Shunettes, and Irish music stalwarts Solas getting jiggy at the Cabot in Beverly. And Sunday rounds out the weekend with provocative Swedish pop singer Tove Lo at House of Blues and jam-rockers Assembly of Dust and Ghosts of Jupiter at Brighton Music Hall.
