Boston’s quality ramen options have expanded admirably in the past few years, but this tiny Porter Square storefront, with only 18 seats between its counter and two tables, has an inimitable charm. Its lone specialty, jiro ramen, boasts fat, chewy noodles, either two or five thick slices of superb pork-belly roast, some token vegetables and an opaque, spectacularly fatty, deep-flavored pork-bone broth. (The optional dose of ferocious raw garlic is highly recommended.) Finishing a bowl is an eating-contest challenge; skip lunch before you go.
