Fifty-four years ago, local DJ and record shop owner Skippy White shook up the airwaves and introduced Boston to a sound previously unknown to much of the city: rhythm and blues. Nowadays, the almost-octogenarian is recognized as a musical pioneer, and his eponymous Egleston Square storefront is the place to find any R&B, rap, jazz or gospel album you’re looking to spin.
