2016 Winner: Gastropod

This biweekly banquet always leaves us hungry for more. The brainchild of BU grad Cynthia Graber and fellow foodie Nicola Twilley, who produce the podcast from Graber’s Somerville apartment when they’re not reporting from a snail farm, citrus grove or cheese lab, Gastropod examines food through the lenses of history and science—recent episodes have looked at famous food-related heists, our collective caffeine addiction and supposed edible aphrodisiacs. They’ve clearly whetted lots of other listeners’ appetites for knowledge, given the sold-out crowd for their first live recording at the Museum of Science this spring.
