For Chelsey Emery, finalizing invites can be a bit like couple’s therapy. Working together to articulate preferences and find a compromise, she says, offers valuable lessons for what lies ahead. “Maybe the groom likes the border and layout, but the bride prefers the colors and fonts from another,” says the architect turned graphic designer, who offers both predesigned options and custom creations. “I then work to marry the two together.” Three rounds of proofs, luxe cotton letterpress paper and Emery’s flair for fun-yet-timeless design ensures that each marriage is a happy one.
