As far as we’re concerned, any place we’re dancing should be an accepting, inclusive space (we don’t want to be judged for our flailing limbs when the DJ plays our jam). So we’re very much down with what local queer activist and multitalented performer Evan Greer is doing with Break the Chains. The all-gender/all-genre/queer and trans-friendly dance party pops up at venues around town on a semi-monthly basis, and the event has evolved from its very DIY beginnings to host both local and national performers (like recent headliners the Shondes). No dress code, no judgments, no reason not to hit the floor running.
