It was a busy year for Hector and Nivia Piña, who expanded their empire of festive, glamorous outposts of Caribbean food (Merengue, Vejigantes) to include Doña Habana, a new Cuban spot at the edge of the South End, and this big, lively, nightclub-equipped new venue in Central Square. Chef Giovanna Huyke’s menu of Puerto Rican standbys is rounded out with dishes from Jamaica and Cuba, as well as a ceviche bar, plus live music (mostly Latin jazz) most nights.
