Handel + Haydn Society is going for baroque with its Glories of the Italian Baroque concert, showcasing classical gems of the 18th century that have transcended time. The orchestra performs seven pieces—from Arcangelo Corelli’s Concerto Grosso in F major, Op. 6, No. 2 to Vivaldi favorites—all brimming with drama that still captivates listeners three centuries later. Concertmaster Aisslinn Nosky leads the ensemble as a featured soloist for Vivaldi’s Concerto in D minor, Per Pisendel, and his Concerto for Violin, Op. 8, No. 5, La tempesta di mare, with violist Karina Schmitz soaring during Georg Philipp Telemann’s Viola Concerto.
