It’s hot chocolate season, and local chocolate-makers Goodnow Farms recently rolled out its first hot cocoa mix online and in stores throughout the area. The 7.8-ounce bags ($9) come in four varieties and use the same single-origin beans that are in all of Goodnow’s chocolate, which is free of gluten, dairy and preservatives. And get ready to use your muscles—in an effort to maintain the flavor, the hot cocoa is not alkalized (washed in potassium carbonate), so you’ll have to stir a little harder.
