Killer B’s

Price: $8.50

Inventor: Operations manager Sal Gesamondo

Ingredients: Bulleit bourbon, ginger beer, honey simple syrup, jalapeno and lemon juice

Flavor: With a name that nods to the Bruins across the street, this one’s not too spicy, not too sweet. You get “the sweet bourbon mixed in with the sting of the jalapeno,” Gesamondo says. As for the heat, he adds, “The ginger beer and the honey really cut it down.”

Pair it With: Beer can chicken, Gesamondo’s personal favorite, which chef Paul Booras roasts with Blue Moon and tops with a jalapeno and smoked bacon glaze. In case of overtime, the kitchen stays open until midnight Thursday through Saturday.

Ahead of the Game: Like the other Tavern in the Squares, this eighth location has 50 draft beers, plenty to sample before heading to the neighboring TD Garden. Or, hunker down for three periods at the 36-seat bar: There are 10 televisions and a video wall.

Middle Ground: Looking to branch out from your usual order? The menu’s Tapped Off section features beer cocktails.

In the Neighborhood: Opened last month, the restaurant wants to cater to the Garden crowd, but also hopes to be a neighborhood hangout. Gesamondo, who has been with the franchise since he was a bar back and there was only one location, says: “Not to sound cheesy, but that’s always been our focus, the neighborhood feel.”
