A New Brunswick

Kit and Ace isn’t the only newcomer plying performance wear for sweater weather. “You know that layer you have on the back of your chair at work? We want that to be Brunswick Park,” says Jess Garbarino, cofounder of the new Boston-based apparel brand, which met its $25,000 fundraising goal on Sept. 29, less than 24 hours into its Kickstarter campaign. In February, backers can expect shipments of Brunswick Park’s first batch of hoodies, bomber jackets and blazers, made from a machine-washable custom merino wool blend designed to wick moisture, keep its shape and stretch for comfort. “[Cofounder Alex Weaver and I] are both pretty entrenched in the startup community here in Boston, and our day-to-day schedules have us running all over the city. We didn’t have pieces that could keep up with us,” says Garbarino, who named the brand after the street she grew up on in Melrose. “Coincidentally, Brunswick is also the name of the town where Alex went to college. It was pretty serendipitous.”
