Meteorologist for NECN
Been there, done that: I’ve forecasted weather for Telemundo in Chicago and Dallas, and although weather is my passion, I’ve also been a news anchor, producer and reporter, covering the Billboard and MTV Music Video Awards.
Who needs stuffed animals? I’ve won three Emmys. When I won my first, almost 10 years ago, I slept with it for two days.
Secret goal: I hope to one day open a Mexican restaurant here in Boston!
Craziest thing she ever did for love: Flying to Martha’s Vineyard in a tiny plane. I’m petrified of flying in small planes, and we hit some crazy head-wind turbulence before landing safely. I wanted to kiss the ground and punch my date.
Worst trait: Bit of a fiery temper.
Memorable first date: He picked me up at 4:30 am, and we drove to a field. It was still dark, but when we got there, a man was waiting in a beautiful, multicolored hot-air balloon. The ride was gorgeous, and we had Champagne and strawberries. He got a second date.
If she were a storm, she’d be: A “firenado”—a spectacular mix of fire and tornado, two of nature’s fiercest phenomena in one. Boom!
Secret skills: I kill at charades, and I’m a very good poker player.
You’d never know: I’ve broken my nose three times.
You may have noticed: I have a hard time pronouncing “February” and “astronaut.”

Robert Grafton, 28
Bar manager at PARK Restaurant + Bar
Surprise on his CV: A master’s degree in neuroscience. After leaving the lab, I pursued bartending at PARK, where I honed my technique and learned to work with skill, precision and speed.
Ear candy: NPR is a constant in my life.
Esoteric pursuit: I brew kombucha. I have cultures that are 4 years old at this point, and I love sharing them with friends and neighbors who are interested.
Other creative outlets: I love to build bikes. I’ve built five for my friends.
Special skill: I’m bilingual. Being from Montreal, I grew up speaking French in the house but learned English at the age of 7.
Best feature: My height. Second would be my facial hair.
Celebrity crush: Daniel Radcliffe.
Breakfast at Tiffany’s moment: I once brought my crush a cooler of his favorite oysters to his office, and we had oysters and Champagne for lunch.
Biggest dating disaster: Going on a blind date, only to realize it was the guy my ex was sleeping with when we broke up.
Romance in six words or less: Buenos Aires, with Fernet and cola.
Worst pick-up line he ever received: “I know your mother. She was my professor. I think we should hang out.”

Leah Sugrue, 28
Senior stylist at Salon Mario Russo
The basics: I’m very creative and artistic. Whether I’m working at the salon or doing editorial work, fashion shows or DIY projects at home, I love working with my hands to make something.
Career highlight: Being part of the L’Oreal team at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. I had the opportunity to style hair for designers like Jason Wu, Monique Lhuillier, Phillip Lim and Tory Burch.
Don’t judge: As creepy as it sounds, I love to people watch; you can sit back and see the world from a completely different angle.
Celebrity crush: Hands down, Jared Leto. It started with My So-Called Life, so basically I was 8. To me, he looks like a badass Jesus.
Craziest thing she’s done for love: I was invited to go on a ski trip in the Italian Alps. One little problem: I didn’t know how to ski. I said yes anyway and frantically learned how to ski in three months.
Biggest dating disaster: I went on a date with a guy who had three credit cards declined, so I paid the bill. He was really embarrassed.
Trend alert: I’m really into the “man bun” right now.
Her idea of romance: Someone who pays attention to the little things. It is so nice when a guy remembers your favorite bottle of wine, the food you like or a movie that makes you laugh. Extravagant gifts and trips are nice, but don’t last like a simple gesture.

Josh Cole, 31
Product liaison/distribution associate for Olmstead Wine & The Wine Bottega
Hospitality had him at hello: It started with a little, family-run, old-world pizzeria and continued in college at Loyola University. I was captivated by New Orleans—the food, music, energy, people and, most of all, the general sense of hospitality. I shucked oysters and bartended my way through school.
Today: I help to spread the word on delicious, small-production, naturally made wines. We’re trying to get real, authentic juice into more people’s glasses.
Celebrity crush: I would happily grab a drink with Rashida Jones or Zoe Saldana.
Quirky hobbies: Shopping for records and antique glassware.
His happy place: Summers growing up were spent camping and working on boats in Plymouth Harbor. To this day, I feel at home and rejuvenated in nature.
Hidden skill: I make some of my best meals while standing over a campfire.
Ice Bucket Challenge, who? Over the past few years, I’ve completed multiple 15-plus-mile paddleboard races to raise money for ALS awareness.
Core values: I was raised to help others and to always look to lend a hand.
If his ideal woman were a grape varietal: She would be frappato. Indigenous to Sicily, this grape is delicate but rugged.

Hanadi Hamzeh, 28
Owner of Covet consignment boutique
Surprise on her CV: After studying medical laboratory science at Northeastern and doing co-ops at Children’s Hospital and Mass General, I got a job at MGH managing a small lab. I really loved it, and it gave me a good deal of autonomy—which gave me the confidence I needed to open my own business.
Addiction: I’m a news and politics junkie. Election season is my thang! I listen to NPR every morning, and I’m basically always reading news sites and blogs when I have a free moment.
On her lap, you’ll find: Olive, my 5-pound rescue Chihuahua. She’s my right-hand man, in the shop with me every day.
On her plate, you’ll find: No meat. I’m a pescatarian.
At least she knows it: I hate to admit this, but I can definitely be a know-it-all. But I’m working on it.
Her idea of romance: Doing sweet things because you want to, not because you have to. I love the idea of seeing something and giving it to someone simply because you thought of the other person. Thoughtfulness doesn’t need
an occasion.
Fun fact: I have a twin sister named Dalia.
Thing that drives her crazy (in a good way): A well-dressed man. I’m hoping that soon the men of Boston will realize there’s more to clothes than just a striped button-down and jeans.

Dylan Petitt, 27
Finance/accounting recruiter and former Bachelorette contestant
Career trajectory: I left accounting to become a recruiter at BNG Consulting, Inc. I’ve only been a recruiter for four months, but I really enjoy it.
In his spare time: I’m very big on going to the gym, the beach, and playing sports. I was playing baseball in the Men’s Adult Baseball League two years ago.
Biggest dating disaster: Going out on a Tinder date and having my ex-girlfriend show up where we were.
Dealbreaker: Smoking.
Craziest thing he ever did for love (or lust): Go on national television and dance on [Bachelorette host] Chris Harrison [earning the admiration of the otherwise cold-hearted Andi].
Did he really expect to find true love on The Bachelorette? I thought it was possible, but after a few weeks I knew it wasn’t for me.
Best part of doing reality TV: Lifelong friendships.
Special skills: I can do a French braid. That’s about all I’ve got.
Celebrity crush: Jennifer Aniston.
His idea of romance: Pizza, white wine and a romantic comedy.
Does he approach dating the same way he approaches recruiting? No, but that’s probably a good thing, since I was dumped on national TV. There are some similarities with cold calling, though.

Camille Forde, 27
Corporate responsibility manager and fashion blogger
Current project: I’m doing a capsule wardrobe challenge, in which I wear a predetermined number of items (shoes included) for a three-month period. No shopping allowed. I’m amazed at how much I’m able to do with only a few pieces.
Philosophy: Doing my blog [TheSamePG] opened my eyes to the excess of my life. I had a closetful of clothes and this insatiable desire for more…. Over time, I’ve truly embraced that less is indeed more, and experiences are more valuable than possessions.
Fashion bona fides: Being a guest editor for Marie Claire magazine was an amazing honor.
Charity of choice: I’m on the board of advisers of Thompson Island Outward Bound.
On her itinerary: The more I travel, the more I learn. My family is from Trinidad and Haiti, so the Caribbean is a second home. I absolutely love London. However, Casablanca is one of the most memorable places I’ve been. In April, I’m heading to Beijing to explore and to climb the Great Wall of China.
Notes on love: My friend’s dad used to write her mom love letters when they were dating, and now their daughters have the letters as a keepsake. In this day of electronic messaging, the personal gestures are even more romantic.

Andrea Starr, 28
Owner of Eyestarr lash boutique
By the sweat of her brow: I started working on Newbury Street when I was 20, doing lash extensions and brows. I quickly started building a clientele, and by 22, I was managing the company.
Bold move: At 24, I decided to start my own business. I own an adorable storefront and absolutely love what I do.
Apple of her eye: I’m a mother to an amazing 7-year-old girl who is my entire world and whole heart.
In her downtime: I like to practice magic and witchcraft. Just kidding! I like to read and write, and to cook. I love to travel and explore. Staying active. Trying new restaurants. Watching Shark Tank. Writing business plans. Doing yoga. Going to concerts.
Her fitness routine: Running. I like to do on-demand workouts and stay hydrated with wine. I ski with my daughter (pretty badly), and we just signed up for tennis lessons.
Turn-offs: Somebody who still plays video games or is into wrestling, guys who wear earrings, bros.
On her to-do list: I’ve never been to Paris, but I would love to go someday.
Flirting M.O.: In the moment, I smile and play with my hair a little, but I don’t think I do anything intentional. I like things to happen unexpectedly and organically. I’m a big fan of a natural connection and chemistry.

Corey Bunnewith, 26
Co-founder of Boston Harbor Distillery
Grape escape: I enrolled in the Culinary Institute of America to study Baking and Pastry Arts, but I left to pursue a passion for wine, starting with a cellar-master internship at Balthazar.
Here in Boston: I launched Coppa’s bar program. Then, in 2011, I helped launch Inspired Beverage, a brand-management firm for craft spirits and boutique wines.
Special skills: Oyster shucking, cigar cutting and knowing all of Jimmy Buffett’s lyrics.
Charities of choice: I support No Kid Hungry and Lovin’ Spoonfuls and serve on the advisory and fundraising board for vocational technical education at Blackstone Valley Regional Technical High School.
Awards and honors: I was named a Mixologist to Watch by Beverage Media in 2009 and featured in The Improper’s 2010 Beloved Bartenders issue.
How he stays in fighting shape: A daily dose of kettlebells and a blue belt in Brazilian jiujitsu.
Other hobbies: Skiing, collecting vinyl, and I’m about to start learning Portuguese.
Best feature: Probably the red hair and blue eyes, but the cougars love the dimples.
On a first date: My A-game would be wrapping Christmas presents and eating Korean food.
What drink best describes his love life? More bourbon, bigger glass.

Donald Gregorio, 31
Executive assistant/producer at a marketing agency and drag performer
On his double life: As the saying goes, “Business in the front, party in the back.” For me, it’s “Corporate by day, shows by night.”
At work: I’ve been referred to as the “Jack of all trades” and the “Velvet Hammer.”
On drag as a drug: I started off as that person who said, “I’d never do drag!” and now I’m that person who says, “I can’t get enough!” I’ve been doing it since 2009, and I’ve evolved my persona, “Dee Dee de Ray.”
Other pastimes: Musical theater, dance and choreography. (I was nominated for Best Choreography by the Independent Reviewers of New England.)
Proud achievement: The President’s Volunteer Service Award from Citizen Schools.
Domestic skills: I’ve developed a passion for cooking food from my culture, plus baking. I was first taught how to bake by my grandfather, who owned a bakery in the Philippines. You won’t find me using any Betty Crocker boxed mixes.
Does he expect a guy to be as attracted to him in drag? With the number of hours it takes? Hell, yes! Just kidding. To be honest, no…. I’d wonder if it’s only while I’m in drag and whether it’s a “thing” sexually. I would hope that first and foremost they are sexually attracted to me as my male self and, if in drag, for the dedication and ambition I put into it.

Provenance: I’m a Masshole through and through—born and raised on the North Shore.
Job satisfactions: Our team has brokered locations for Barcelona Wine Bar, Turnstyle Cycle, Wink & Nod and Rosebud American Kitchen, to name some recent ones.
Charity of choice: I’m very involved with Fenway Health, one of the leading health care institutions for the LGBT community. Hostess with the mostest: I love throwing parties and entertaining. I used to run a monthly traveling takeover bar night, called GirlSpot, to fill a void in nightlife for women at the time.
Pastimes: I love music of all kinds, from country to opera, and I go to concerts as much as I can.
Preferred position: Growing up, I played goalie in field hockey, ice hockey and lacrosse.
Nerd alert: I’m fascinated by languages and have a pretty good command of four. I also once translated Virgil’s entire Aeneid from Latin and loved every minute of it.

Sandy Kreis, 32
Entrepreneur in residence at Blade and visiting lecturer at Tufts University
In a few words: A classy broad with a dash of hippie.
Credentials: My mom is a big fan of the Grateful Dead and took me to nine shows.
Life lessons: When I was 7, my dad passed away from cancer. My mom raised me and my sister on her own, and she even took in two kids who were having trouble at home.
Eloise experience: When I worked as a paralegal in N.Y., one of my cases went to trial in Palm Beach, and I lived at the Breakers for three months. That’s when I learned how to drink a dirty martini.
L.A. interlude: I worked for an advocacy group pushing climate change legislation, and I had lunch with Alicia Silverstone, met Bill Clinton, watched Gov. Schwarzenegger order cookies at a bakery and had an awkward conversation with Al Gore and Cameron Diaz.
Asian adventures: After auditioning for a yearlong travel project, I got a call from Korea asking if I would host a YouTube show called Sell Your Seoul. I hopped on a plane, chopped through wood in tae kwon do, took an archery class, made kimchi and fell in love with yet another country. After that, I backpacked solo through China, Thailand and Laos.
Outdoorsy much? Nature is my church. I’m a huge hiker, trail runner and sunset hunter. My adopted mutt, Sebbie, is always by my side.

Josh Falk, 35
Co-owner of Studio Fresh, specializing in large-scale murals, art projects and signage
Creative pursuits: Photography, painting, sculpture, installations, woodworking and being a general maker of things. I love to explore the city’s forgotten or misunderstood areas with my camera in tow.
Painting the town: I’ve worked with Artward Bound, a MassArt program where I helped create a series of 3-D murals for Community Boat Building (also a rad organization). I helped kids sketch and make models of their ideas, and we built, painted and installed the murals. It was a huge success.
Latest hobby: I’ve been working on/rebuilding 1970s motorcycles.
Robinson Crusoe cred: I’m fairly confident that if you were stranded on a deserted island with me, you would survive.
On a first date: I ask as many questions as possible.
His Greg Brady moment: I once tried dating more than one girl at a time. When my date and her friend arrived, I quickly realized that her wing-girl was the same wing-girl of the other girl I was dating. They all went to the same school.
Up for dating a 9-to-5er? As long as she’s not opposed to getting dirty from time to time and is willing to put up with my erratic work schedule.
Quote of note: I like to get lost only to find my way again.

Dirty little secret: I am a Texas native, so I like everything big (wink, wink)!

Pet peeve: If we go out to dinner and she asks for salt before tasting the food.
Sweet spot: There’s one bench in particular on the Charles River, outside of Harvard Square, during twilight.
What romantic prospects need to understand about the restaurant business: We have to be there on holidays, special events and late nights. The people I work with are family, so you’d better find a way to get along with them.

Erin McDonald, 36
Social worker, indoor cycling instructor and personal trainer
