At Make-a-Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island, the Boston Red Sox are truly big hitters, having helped grant the wishes of some 200 children with life-threatening medical conditions. The team was honored at the charity’s 30th Anniversary Gala on April 8 at the InterContinental Boston, where 500 guests raised more than $1 million. The charity will soon reach another milestone, as it’s on track to grant its 8,000th wish by the end of the summer.
