Despite their foraging, farm-to-table, seasonal ethic, our Colonial forebears almost certainly didn’t eat or drink as well as modern New Englanders. Exhibit A is this East Cambridge newcomer housed in a rough-hewn yet handsome space. It adroitly manages to draw inspiration from early American cooking and sustainable local sourcing while amplifying it with 21st-century techniques and ingredients. The results are novel, original and delicious. Fantastic cocktails, wines and beers, serious fourth-wave coffees and a cool patio are bonuses. Take that, Myles Standish.
