Boston Philharmonic Orchestra feat. Ginastera, Ravel and Strauss

Boston Philharmonic will feature one of Argentinian composer Alberto Ginastera’s most compelling works, the transcendent Variaciones concertantes, which will capture the audience from the start with an expressive, rhapsodic cello solo. French composer Maurice Ravel’s Daphnis and Chloé will surely dazzle with the enchanting and lush harmonies flowing through the orchestra, evoking the story of two lovers finding their way back into each other’s arms. The BPO will finish off the challenging and enduring concert with the magnificent tone poem Ein Heldenleben, in which the German composer Richard Strauss depicts the story in musical form of a hero (perhaps Strauss himself?) in “A Hero’s Life.”
