David Sedaris

For the average Joe, a diary is highly personal, its contents never meant to be seen by another human (often, we don’t even want to revisit them). Not so for David Sedaris, who has forged a massively successful career penning candid memoirs and essays chronicling the often mundane moments of his life through candid, witty, insightful prose. The prolific humorist and This American Life contributor drops by Harvard Book Store on June 4 to read from his new book Theft by Finding: Diaries, which contains entries spanning from 1977 to 2002—and marks the first time he’s published his diaries in their pure form.
