The Boston Comedy Blowout

When it comes to homegrown talent, Boston often has the last laugh. Case in point: The Boston Comedy Blowout, which is bringing six locally bred comedians together for a killer comedy showcase. Headliners such as Don Gavin (pictured and oft-dubbed the “godfather of Boston comedy”), prolific local circuit stand-up Tony V. and Boston legend Steve Sweeney take the stage alongside next-gen talent like Orlando Baxter, who you might recognize from a little show called Conan. No laugh tracks will be necessary when the inaugural Boston Comedy Blowout takes the stage at the Boch Shubert Theatre on April 29. / Sarah Marcantonio
