Tiny Great Outdoors Festival

It really is a small world, after all. So get out there and explore it! That’s the idea behind the Tiny Great Outdoors Festival. Serving as a celebration of urban wildlife and a warm (fingers crossed!) welcome to spring, the free fest will be held at Quincy Street Open Space, an empty lot that, at a mere 5,000 square feet, serves as Somerville’s smallest “urban wild.” It’s set to host guided nature walks with scientists—who will give talks on everything from local flora and fauna to the effects of global warming on our wild spaces—along with on-site tree planting and other activities. Plus, attendees will go home with tree seedlings so they can help their own tiny urban wilds grow.
