2015 Winner: Ruby Rose Fox

Ruby Rose Fox took home Best Female Vocalist at December’s Boston Music Awards, but we’re going to go ahead and declare her Boston’s musician of the moment, period. The longtime singer/songwriter got her start at open mics across town, where her rich, reminiscent-of- another-era voice secured her more than a few BMA nominations preceding her 2014 win, a coveted spot in the Rock ’N’ Roll Rumble and a monthly residency at Atwood’s, which came to a close in January so the soulful pop songstress could embark on her first tour. Lucky for us she’s back around these parts this summer—catch her next gig in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, at the Music Hall on July 10.
