To the delight of the food-nerd crowd, Chinese restaurants with a traditional bent are increasingly easy to find outside of Boston’s Chinatown. The modest Dumpling Palace near Symphony neatly mimics its elder sibling Dumpling Cafe’s strengths: the region-hopping eclecticism of Taiwanese cuisine, amazingly good value and the best xiao long bao (Shanghainese-style soup dumplings) in the city. A word of advice to newbies: Take a YouTube tutorial on proper XLB eating technique first.
