With its gorgeous velvet-upholstered banquettes and trippy wall art, Amuleto offers an unusually swank setting for traditional Mexican fare, bolstered by a bar serving very good cocktails and a broad selection of mezcals. The kitchen likewise shows range, drawing from several regions of Mexico for its sumptuous grilled and marinated seafood, fancy plates of tacos and entrees sauced with complex moles. Boston still has room to improve in the fine-dining Mexican category; Amuleto is showing the way.
