2017 Winner: Firenze Trattoria


Finding a skillful, soulful rendition of the cuisine of Tuscany in Greater Boston is surprisingly difficult: Its simplicity turns out to be hard as heck to reproduce here. But chef/owner Zamir Kociaj captures its rustic virtues in beautiful breads, legumes, pastas, grilled meats and Italian wines with such obvious depth of feeling and workmanlike consistency, the place feels significantly sunnier and more distant than the North Shore. It’s the textbook Tuscan trattoria.
