A smash hit practically from the moment it opened two summers ago, this tiny, soigne spot has obvious charms: its pale blue-on-white Mediterranean-chic ambiance, a great sidewalk patio on a placid corner of the South End, and above all, the ancient charms of traditional Greek wines and foods, many fire-kissed on a real charcoal grill. Arrive early to the no-reservations spot as the South End restaurant scene is hot once again; Kava helped rekindle it and has been keeping it stoked since.
