The downside to private dining is that no one gets to see how stylish you look having a swanky intimate supper at the latest hot spot. So we love the semi-private space at Les Sablons, the Paris-chic continental cuisine entry from restaurateur Garrett Harker and the Island Creek Oysters crew, separated from the rest of the upstairs dining room by a curtain. Behind it, diners sit among custom art pieces like brooding portraits of David Bowie and Grace Jones. Somehow, you still feel like the star.
