After a long stint as sous-chef at Boston’s acclaimed French restaurant L’Espalier, chef/owner Alex Crabb now puts up two of the prettiest, most sophisticated, carefully sourced prix fixe menus in the city nightly: one made of five courses, the other of eight. Serving on a small scale (the room only seats 41) with minimal pretentious trappings helps make Asta a relatively affordable alternative to Boston’s toniest purveyors of Instagrammable small plates.
