100 Years of Modern Dance/The Test of Time

Dance Currents sashays on stage with 100 Years of Modern Dance/The Test of Time, featuring nine numbers in a performance that reflects on Isadora Duncan’s 1902 essay “The Dance of the Future,” in which she envisions a dancer whose body and soul have become so intertwined that her soul dictates her movement. Then, Iris Fanger—former Harvard Summer Dance Center director—and Luminarium artistic director Merli Guerra moderate panel discussions with Boston creatives on the history of modern dance and the struggle to keep the genre—ahem—modern.
