A Century of Style: Masterworks of Poster Design

MassArt Foundation director Robert Bachelder has got quite the poster collection. After lending works to the National Gallery of Art and the Museum of Fine Arts, he’s bringing 131 of his vintage placards together in the first exhibition of his collection, A Century of Style: Masterworks of Poster Design. During the past few decades, Bachelder has swept up works from well-respected artists, including Art Nouveau pioneer Gustav Klimt and post-Impressionist and Moulin Rouge frequenter Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, plus Richard Avedon’s bright take on John Lennon, above.
